In this ongoing course, gamers will meet once a week to play Roblox games with other gamers in a secure, monitored environment.

Do you love Roblox. Would you like a safe place to play and make new friends?. You will meet, game and socialize with their peers once a week. Teacher will moderate moderate, encourage, help and guide students . Each week we will play a new game based on interest from the group. Since this is a gaming class, there will be no lesson, nothing building on the next week, so drop in and play with us at any time! At beginning of each class, I will post 3 possible games to play. We will choose one based on the group's interest. We will not repeat games from one week to another. Learners will need to share their user name with the teacher. We use a private server for your protection. *Parents must give permission for their enrolled students to share their Roblox player information. Learners will need to install Roblox on their device prior to class. Two windows are needed to play - one for Zoom and one for class direction. This can be 2 separate devices or 1 device with split screens.

Hi, my name is Dan Hartman. I have many years of experience as an elementary and middle school technology teacher (Pk-8). I have a bachelor's degree from Penn State in Computer Science and over 25years of working in the computer science world. For years I have been bringing the joy of coding into PK-8 classrooms, with my passion for teaching technology and a skill for turning learning into an adventure, I inspire young minds to explore the digital world with creativity and curiosity.
I always try to make my teaching fun; students will see me wearing different hats and wigs to liven things up. I was a kid once, too and I can relate that it can be intimidating trying to warm up to a new teacher. In my classes, we will joke a bit and have a good time. But guess what, you will learn how to code.
Last but not least, I realize that not all students pick up everything as quickly, so I try not to leave anyone hanging. I will often extend class sessions for one or a couple students. We can even zoom in at another time. My approach is that no student should leave without understanding the material.
