Welcome to Spark Academy! Roblox Rookies isn't your average Roblox gaming club. Our priority is to create a fun, safe space for your child to thrive as they make new friends, try new things, and play Roblox with other gamers. We will go slow and help explain things along the way for our youngest gamers. We also focus on a developmentally appropriate aspect of digital citizenship each week and embed social and emotional learning in every class. All games will be played in a private server to ensure your child's safety. Students will need to have a Roblox account and share their gamer tag privately with the teacher before class. Teachers want to ensure that all games are appropriate so please let the teacher know ahead of time if there is a game/genre that your child is not allowed to play. We usually play two games each class, one is teacher choice based on the students' interests, and then students will take turns choosing the other game each week. Due to the young learner age, an adult may need to be available to help the student for the first few classes as they learn how to log in and navigate Roblox. Parental Guidance
Your child's safety is our top priority. We will only be playing on Roblox through private servers and students will need to have a Roblox account to participate. They will also need to share their gamer tag (username) privately with the teacher before class. We will not play any games that are outside of the age range of the class. Please let the teacher know if there are any games/genres that your child is NOT allowed to play.
Supply List
Most students find it helpful to have two devices, one for Zoom and one for Roblox; however, that is not required.
