Roblox Enrichment Academy: Learn and Earn!

Combining education and gaming is possible!  Roblox offers many opportunities to practice academic skills in a fun and interactive way.  In this course students will receive a link to a schedule of classes and assignments to complete each week.  If students have completed at least 3 assignments and activities from each week, they will earn a Robux gift card worth 400 Robux to use in their favorite games!  Robux will be given at the end of the 4 weeks.  The schedule follows the following structure and homework is assigned for each subject area: 
Period 1:  Homeroom
Period 2:  Math
Period 3:  Science
Period 4:  Specials (different special each week to cover art, library, music, and PE)
Period 5:  Language Arts
Period 6:  Social Studies
Period 7:  Recess
Some of the academic content may be familiar and some of it may be an opportunity to learn something new. 

*****PLEASE NOTE******
This class does not meet live to complete assignments.  There will be opportunities to join in live sessions for recess each week (time and date to be determined).

******Prerequisites for this class:******
*Must be able to read and comprehend on at least a second grade reading level.
*Must be familiar with taking screen shots on selected device (phone, tablet, pc) and uploading to the Teacher tab on Outschool.
*Must be familiar with Roblox platform.  

*****Student Responsibilities:******
Students will play the assigned subject-area game, complete a homework assignment (PDF or self-grading interactive worksheet), and upload screenshots to me through the Outschool classroom Teacher tab.  
Work at your own pace, but submit work by the Sunday deadline of each week.
Manage time between playing game and completing homework.

Interactive Gaming sessions:
I will post dates in the Outschool classroom for special “recess” times throughout the four weeks where we can play selected games on a private server together inside of Roblox.

Week 1 Schedule:
During this week you will introduce yourself to other learners and explore 6 games that will boost your academic skills in each subject area.  Some topics you will explore are internet safety, the water cycle, and go on a field trip to the Roblox History Museum.  Complete your homework assignments and challenge yourself and classmates to make it onto the leaderboard.  Complete at least 3 assignments (screenshot+homework) from the schedule.  Join in for an interactive gaming session near the end of the week to socialize and play a fun game with your classmates!

Week 2 Schedule:
During homeroom this week you will share your top 3 favorite games to the Outschool classroom.  Your schedule will include 5 games to explore for each subject area.  Some topics you will learn about are parts of speech, properties of 3D shapes, and identifying country flags.  Complete your homework assignments and challenge yourself and classmates to make it onto the leaderboard for this week.  Complete at least 3 assignments (screenshot+homework) from the schedule.  Join in for an interactive gaming session near the end of the week to socialize and play a fun game with your classmates!

Week 3 Schedule:
During homeroom this week you will share in the Outschool classroom a suggestion for the Roblox platform to improve gaming experiences.  Your schedule will include 5 games to explore for each subject area.  Some topics you will learn about are solving math problems, learning about your digestive system, and learning to play the piano.  Complete your homework assignments and challenge yourself and classmates to make it onto the leaderboard for this week.  Complete at least 3 assignments (screenshot+homework) from the schedule.  Join in for an interactive gaming session near the end of the week to socialize and play a fun game with your classmates!

Week 4 Schedule:
During homeroom this week you will share in the Outschool classroom a wish list of which items or experiences you would like to buy with your Robux.  Your schedule will include 5 games to explore for each subject area.  Some topics you will learn about are ecology, writing a cinquain, and solving word problems.  Complete your homework assignments and challenge yourself and classmates to make it onto the leaderboard for this week.  Complete at least 3 assignments (screenshot+homework) from the schedule.  Join in for an interactive gaming session near the end of the week with your classmates to close out the Roblox Enrichment Academy “semester”.
