Class Experience

Calling all fans of fashion! Join me each week in the awesome Roblox game Dress To Impress. This pageant-themed game is not only super fun, but also builds creativity and time management.

Each week we'll meet in my private server and play rounds of Dress To Impress.

If you haven't played already, here's how the game works:

You begin in intermission. Then a theme is announced. Once the round begins you'll have 5 1/2 minutes to put together a fierce look that you think best meets the theme. You select hair, face, skin tone, clothing and accessories. Though they are available, there is no need to own a premium game pass in order to look awesome. There are many great options in every category for free. Plus, almost everything is highly customizable, so there is a ton of room for creativity.

Learners are welcome to join the group at anytime as the lessons are non-sequential.

The nature of this game offers opportunities to explore several important social skills including:
- Fair play
- Patience
- Kindness and understanding
- Diligence

As I say in my bio, I believe learners excel when they are given the freedom to explore their interests and pursue their passions. I also believe that learning should be communal rather than hierarchical. My approach fosters an interactive environment, and I encourage learners to share their thoughts, ideas and perspectives so that we can all learn and grow together. As I see it, a classroom is a community.

I can't wait to meet each new learner and learn as much from them as they will from me!

Important information for parents:
*It is recommended to have a device for the Zoom meeting and a separate device for playing on Roblox.
**We will meet once per week and play Roblox Dress To Impress. No one has access to these matches except for enrolled learners and, of course, me.
***After enrollment, please send me your child's Roblox username. I'll send a friend request from my account so that we are able to easily find and identify each other in game.
****Students will have an opportunity to exchange usernames and make new Roblox friends during class.
Learning Goals

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, everyone! My name is Mike, and I am a gaming teacher on Outschool. All of my gaming classes are within the wide world of Roblox. Prior to my days here on Outschool, I ran a pet care company for over 20 years; I performed as a professional musician and produced albums for rock, folk and jazz artists, and I'm currently bassist for the band The Yagas; I worked as a wedding, editorial and headshot photographer; and I led meditation groups for adults.

I believe learners excel when they are given the freedom to explore their interests and pursue their passions. I also believe that learning should be communal rather than hierarchical. My approach fosters an interactive environment, and I encourage learners to share their thoughts, ideas and perspectives so that we can all learn and grow together. As I see it, a classroom is a community.

I have a 12 year old child who loves Outschool. I also have a wife, 2 dogs and a Guinea Pig! My hobbies include linocut print making, learning to play tabla, and composing and performing music.
