Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Roblox Dress to Impress is an exciting and imaginative game designed for learners who love fashion and creativity. In this game, players are challenged to think quickly and creatively within the dazzling world of fashion. The essence of the game lies in interpreting a given theme, crafting a stunning outfit against the clock, and then strutting it down the runway. But that’s not all - the game culminates in a friendly voting session where players admire and vote on each other’s creations.

Why Dress to Impress?
This is more than just a game; this experience offers a journey into the heart of creativity and style. It provides a platform for learners to:

        • Exercise their creativity and imagination by designing unique outfits
        • Develop quick decision-making skills under the pressure of time
        • Enjoy a wonderful time filled with fashion and fun
        • Learn the value of positive feedback and constructive criticism in a supportive
                 environment

Private Server: A Safe Space for Young Designers
I host Dress to Impress on private servers to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all players. Here, every learner gets the chance to give and receive encouraging feedback on their designs. My goal is to create a welcoming space where every designer feels confident to express their creativity and enjoy the beauty of fashion.

Parental Guidance
Common Sense Media rates Roblox age 13. This is due to the unmoderated nature of the games as well as the chat feature. Dress to Impress is a free game on the Roblox platform, rated All-Ages. I provide private servers so your teen will only be playing with other Outschool learners with me as a coach to assist with kind, inclusive and respectful play. Learners need a Roblox account, and the Roblox App. Guardians must provide permission for their enrolled learner to share their Roblox player information. Please message me your learner's Roblox username so that I can send them a friend request, before class. We will need to be friends for the duration of class.
Supply List
For the best experience, it is recommended that two devices be used for this class. One device for the Outschool Zoom meeting and a second device for Roblox. However, it is possible to use tabs if a second device is not available.

Gamers will need a Roblox account and the Roblox app set up before class.

Hello! I’m thrilled to share my passion for teaching and gaming with young learners on Outschool. With over 20 years of experience in public, private, and homeschooling, my teaching philosophy centers on fostering a growth mindset and encouraging students to build resilience by learning from their mistakes. I integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into my classes, using gaming as a dynamic way to build skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and emotional regulation—essential tools for thriving in today’s world.

Inspired by my grandmother, also a teacher, I believe that “more is caught than taught,” which guides my approach to modeling respect, kindness, and inclusivity in every class. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Curriculum Design and Instruction from Drexel University, along with a professional Elementary Education K-6 certification.

My gaming journey began when my daughter introduced me to the Roblox platform, and I quickly saw the need for safe, supervised spaces for kids to enjoy their favorite games online. My Roblox classes, such as Dandy’s World, Adopt Me and Dress to Impress, are designed not just for play but for learning to become responsible digital citizens. Through these gaming experiences, students develop SEL skills, build confidence, and learn to navigate digital spaces with emotional awareness and self-regulation.

I believe in the power of play as a learning tool, especially as more learning moves online. My mission is to create safe, engaging online spaces where kids can connect, have fun, and grow.

Outside of teaching, I love exploring Broadway shows and attending anime and gaming conventions with my daughter. We also have an amazing tuxedo cat named Toes, who occasionally joins our gaming sessions!
