Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught children 2 - 13 yrs old in a classroom setting for 20 yrs. In 2008, I joined a co-op elementary school with a constructivist approach. I believe whole-heartedly in the constructivist approach for children because it involves children being actively involved in the knowledge construction as opposed to passively receiving information.
I enjoy teaching a wide variety of subjects including lower elementary language arts, math, and science lab classes because I can apply my constructivist approach to help the children think outside of the box, problem solve, and make conclusions from their experiences in my classes.
My teaching style is very interactive. My classes include discussion, interaction, and a lot of learner feedback and support. I believe that learning should be fun, as well as, educational for my students. I believe that learners should thoroughly enjoy learning in order to produce life long learners. Learner interests are always taken into consideration when creating my class curriculum.
In addition to teaching, I am a mom of five, dog mom to two, and cat mom to 3! I love my large family and I wouldn't have it any other way! I hope to meet your learner in my classroom!
