Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
In this class, students will dive into Roblox's Arm Wrestle Simulator, where they can use various equipment like dumbbells, grips, barbells, and more to build strength and unlock better gear. Players will face off against bosses or NPCs to earn wins, which can be used to hatch eggs for pets that enhance progress. As they conquer the final boss in each world, new worlds will become available.

This class is designed as a social and gaming club where learners can exchange tips, enjoy gameplay, and interact in a safe, private server. I will actively participate, facilitating discussions and ensuring a fun, cooperative environment. The goal is to foster a community where gamers can connect with others who share their passion, while also practicing communication skills through engaging conversations.

With a small class size of no more than six participants, each learner will have ample opportunity to contribute and feel heard. Learners are welcome to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable, with the aim of building confidence in both speaking and listening over time. I guide conversations with a gentle and respectful approach, ensuring everyone feels included.

At the start of each class, learners will have the chance to say hello and share something about the game or their interests. The class is learner-directed, allowing everyone to work at their own pace in the game or help others progress. I'll be available throughout to facilitate both gameplay and discussions, with learners encouraged to share strategies, ask questions, and contribute to a positive, cooperative experience.
Learning Goals
Learners will develop their speaking and listening skills by exchanging tips and asking questions while engaged in gameplay.

Learning Needs
With a small class size, young gamers will have the opportunity to practice social skills while engaging in a game they know and love, all within a safe and inclusive environment that fosters positive interaction and collaboration.
Parental Guidance
Common Sense Media rates Roblox age 13. This is due to the unmoderated nature of the games as well as the chat feature. Arm Wrestle Simulator is a free game on the Roblox platform. It is rated All-Ages. I provide private servers so your child will only be playing with other Outschool learners with me as a coach to assist with kind, inclusive and respectful play. Learners need a Roblox account, and the Roblox App. Guardians must provide permission for their enrolled student to share their Roblox player information. Please message me your learner's Roblox username so that I can send them a friend request, before class. We will need to be friends for the duration of class.
Supply List
For the best experience, it is recommended that two devices be used for this class. One device for the Outschool Zoom meeting and a second device for Roblox. However, it is possible to use tabs if a second device is not available.

Gamers will need a Roblox account and the Roblox app set up before class.

Hello! I’m thrilled to share my passion for teaching and gaming with young learners on Outschool. With over 20 years of experience in public, private, and homeschooling, my teaching philosophy centers on fostering a growth mindset and encouraging students to build resilience by learning from their mistakes. I integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into my classes, using gaming as a dynamic way to build skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and emotional regulation—essential tools for thriving in today’s world.

Inspired by my grandmother, also a teacher, I believe that “more is caught than taught,” which guides my approach to modeling respect, kindness, and inclusivity in every class. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Curriculum Design and Instruction from Drexel University, along with a professional Elementary Education K-6 certification.

My gaming journey began when my daughter introduced me to the Roblox platform, and I quickly saw the need for safe, supervised spaces for kids to enjoy their favorite games online. My Roblox classes, such as Dandy’s World, Adopt Me and Dress to Impress, are designed not just for play but for learning to become responsible digital citizens. Through these gaming experiences, students develop SEL skills, build confidence, and learn to navigate digital spaces with emotional awareness and self-regulation.

I believe in the power of play as a learning tool, especially as more learning moves online. My mission is to create safe, engaging online spaces where kids can connect, have fun, and grow.

Outside of teaching, I love exploring Broadway shows and attending anime and gaming conventions with my daughter. We also have an amazing tuxedo cat named Toes, who occasionally joins our gaming sessions!
