This one time class will introduce students to the default Roblox Studio Animation Editor, the popular Moon Animator Plugin, and the 12 Principles of Animation to help them create 3D character animations.

Class Experience
Students will learn: How to Insert Default R15 and R6 Humanoid Character Rigs How to Set Up Roblox Studio for Animation The Layout of the Animation Editors and their Differences How to Use Keyframes How to Pose Character Rigs Relevant Principles of Animation such as Exaggeration, Follow Through, and Anticipation How to Use References Effectively How to Use Easing Styles and Directions to Change the Way the Animation Interpolates How to Make the Animation Loop How to Set Animation Priority How to Publish Animations to Roblox (So They Can Be Used In Code) Providing Sandwich Critique Reviewing Related Roblox Documentation Pages This course will NOT cover: Creating Custom Animatable Rigs Animating Non-Humanoid Rigs Playing Animations In Game
Samwise has a Bachelor's Degree in game design and has been teaching Roblox game design online for 2+ years
This class meets once and will not have any assigned homework. I will offer students jumping off points for further independent learning.
Required Materials: A computer that can run Roblox Studio (mobile devices will not work) Suggested Materials: A computer mouse
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
