In this class children will... · develop an understanding of basic emotions (happy, sad, mad etc) in a fun way. Class structure... · each class will begin with an introduction, age appropriate class expectation and interactive activity · a new emotion will be introduced each day. Children will engage in a short story about the emotion and the animal whose common behavioral characteristics identify with the emotion ( i.e. When does a lion ROAR) act out the emotions and a craft. Teaching Process and Style... ·class will be engaging and nurturing. ·children will be given the opportunity to explore their emotions and have fun in the process ·children will be asked to remain quiet throughout the short story but will then be able to interact during the acting out of emotions and craft. The short stories are non-published stories created by me and will be presented via google slides.

In my career , I have worked with children on developing social emotional skills for the past 10 years. Engaging young children with hands on activities such as crafts and sounds has been one of the best ways to teach them.
