In this book club, we will read and discuss books by Roald Dahl!  Each week, learners will be given the opportunity to respond to a prompt that relates the story to the student, introduced to new vocabulary, comprehension questions, and engage in a fun Kahoot! game to assess comprehension. This engaging and interactive book study enhances learners' development of critical thinking, vocabulary, text analysis, and much more! Learners will be engaged in discussing the plot, characters, settings, figurative language, point of view, and connections with the text.  We will spend two weeks to a month on each book, allowing learners to share, connect with exciting characters, and explore wondrous places!

📚The BFG 
  The BFG is no ordinary giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is! 📚James and the Giant Peach! 
 After a rhinoceros tragically eat James Henry Trotter's parents, he goes to live with his two horrible aunts, Spiker and Sponge. There is no fun and he is very lonely unit something peculiar happens.l James accidentally drops some magic crystals by the old peach tree and strange things start to happen. The peach begins to grow and Grow- before long, it's as big as a house. Inside that peach, James meets a bunch of very unusual oversized insects—Grasshopper, Centipede, Ladybug, and more. With a snip of the stem, the peach starts rolling away, and the most magical adventure begins!
 
📚Matilda: For 4weeks, we will read and discuss Matilda by Roald Dahl. 
     Matilda is a sweet, exceptional young girl, but her parents think she's just a nuisance. She expects school to be different, but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a menacing headmistress. When the Trunchbull attacks Matilda, she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. 📚Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 
      Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory is opening at last! But only five lucky children will be allowed inside. 📚Fantastic Mr. Fox!
     Someone's been stealing from the three meanest farmers around, and they know the thief's identity. Working alone, they could never catch him; but now fat Boggis, short Bunce, and lean Bean have joined forces, and they have Mr. Fox and his family surrounded. What they don't know is that they're not dealing with just any fox—Mr. Fox would rather die than surrender. But little do they know that Mr. Fox has a fantastic plan of his own.

📚Esio Trot

The Giraffe the Pelly and Me
