This ongoing weekly structured Musical Theatre class is ideal for aspiring young performers. Students will learn the fundamentals of singing, acting and dancing in this weekly interactive, energetic and positive class environment. The Rising Star Musical Theatre Performance Group is geared towards beginners, but not to easy for intermediate or advanced learners and a great way to introduce your future Broadway Star to the Musical Theatre experience. Each week we will start the class off with a Broadway Jazz dance style warm-up where students learn about different styles of musical theatre dance. We then move on to the singing component, where we will work on pitch, tone and sound quality through fun and interactive vocal warm-up exercises. The second half of each class is devoted to working on a song for performance at the end of the class. Learners will apply their skills to a new song each week from a kid friendly Broadway style musical (Annie, Frozen, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, High School Musical etc.) Students will also learn about theatre terms and vocabulary, as well as the background of the shows from the selected songs that they will be working on in class.
