Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Students will be learning about the various members of the pseudosuchian family tree, from aetosaurs to alligators.
In this ongoing class the topics will cover the different clades, genera and species of the pseudosuchian reptiles. This will include more modern members such as the modern Nile Crocodile, but even species from the Triassic. Occasionally when there is a new fossil discovery it will be talked about at the start of the class.
Each week will be focusing on a different pseudosuchian group. An additional factor is that the students will be given the choice to select which pseudosuchian group would be discussed for the next week. Each student in class over time will get a chance to select any pseudosuchian species, genera, family, group or clade.
My class will be structured with an in-depth look at the pseudosuchian reptiles.
I will teach using a mixture of documentary clips (what little there are regarding pseudosuchians), images, slides from scientific papers, paleoart, all this to further discussion of the topic.
My teaching style is best described as interactive.
Learners will primarily get to interact with me through lecture and discussion. If your child is not comfortable with straight discussion, that is fine, they can listen to the lecture.
There is no experience or knowledge needed. Pseudosuchian reptiles are rarely discussed because of how overshadowed they are by dinosaurs, that is what this class is for, to bring knowledge of these creatures.
Learning Goals
The students will be learning about the pseudosuchian reptiles, their biology, the different families.
