Rise Martial Arts Teaching Method:

Universal Language -
Using words and concepts that are already understood by children, using pattern recognition.

Mental Synthesis -
Connecting seemingly separate aspects of life through the physical movements in Martial Arts, using pattern design.

Smart Play -
It’s proven that children learn best when they are having fun and playing!

The Rise Teaching Method utilizes these 3 teaching concepts to not only speed up and improve your child’s ability to learn and remember martial arts but also to improve their overall ability to think, reason and even learn other non related skills faster!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Please ensure students have enough open clean space, to move around in while kicking and punching. This will minimize their chance of stubbing their toes or accidently karate chopping a chair in half. Students should wear comfortable clothes that they can move around in and have a water bottle nearby. Martial Arts classes should be taken barefoot for ease of kicking. Socks on a hard floor is not permitted, it's a slip and splat waiting to happen.

I love teaching Martial Arts to children!
First off, Martial Arts in and of itself is so much fun! Children(and adults) always enjoy learning how they can use their body in such strong powerful ways, being able to mimic their favorite superhero, movie star or even anime character.
But more importantly Martial Arts creates the perfect environment to teach so many other valuable skills. Everything from Discipline, Confidence, Self esteem and hard work, all the way to problem solving, critical thinking and multi-perspective analysis!

I grew up in a homeschooled family with 5 other brothers(I don’t know how my mom managed it, but she did)! My whole family was involved in Martial Arts, so as you can imagine, my brothers and I were constantly competing to be the best! When my family purchased their own Martial Arts school in 2005, we carried over that same drive to be the best in how we taught, always learning and modifying to find the best way to help children learn and improve. The learning and growth experience, which has been amazing, led us to develop our own unique teaching strategy!
