Class Experience
*A growth mindset means a person believes their intelligence, talents and abilities can improve with effort. The growth mindset embraces challenges, perseveres in the face of failure and focuses on the process instead of the outcome. Example: "I'll ask for help, and then practice." *A fixed mindset means a person believes their intelligence, talents and abilities are fixed and won't change. Often times the fixed mindset will avoid challenges, give up easily and focus on the outcome....
As a current fifth grade teacher and a member of our schools Instructional Leadership Team I have done a lot of work as it relates to the growth mindset at the elementary level.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some games will be played in Kahoot.com, learners will be provided with a direct link and password in order to play.
