Class Experience

Morning Meeting is thought to be only for lower elementary students but that is not true! As students get older, they require safe spaces to talk and work through their increasingly changing social lives. Social Emotional Learning has become increasingly important since most schools across the country have gone virtual.

This class is set up for students to connect with others their age and bond over different discussion topics and activities, as well as get them prepared to start their school day.

Each morning (or afternoon or night depending on where you're from :) ), we will spend time 1) discussing conflicts and challenges such as responsibility, friendship, decision-making, siblings, etc.; 2) playing a game or activity; and 3) discussing a motivational quote to end the meeting.

Supplies needed: Pencil/Pen, paper or notebook

*Please note, the minimum number of learners for this group is 3. If the minimum is not met in a section, I will contact the parents and either transfer the learner to another section or postpone the section for a week.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome parents and students!

My name is Erica Roberts and I am a certified elementary school teacher. I love teaching different topics to elementary and middle school aged children, especially reading, writing, and grammar! I
also love a variety of nonacademic topics like Harry Potter, cake decorating, dinosaurs, sports, sea animals, and so much more!

I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education K-6, a Bachelors in English K-12, and I am also a certified ESL teacher. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders for the last five years.

In addition to being a classroom teacher, I have been a camp counselor, youth football coach, high school basketball and track coach, and a personal fitness trainer for many years!

I love teaching and learning, which makes doing this job so much fun and rewarding. I believe that all learning should be engaging and relevant, which is why I like to center my classes around topics students find interesting.

I look forward to seeing your child in my classroom!
