Average rating:4.4Number of reviews:(58)
In this one-time class, students will learn a basic rhythmic gymnastics routine using a hoop.
Class Experience
No gymnastics knowledge is necessary. We will begin with a warm-up to get our muscles prepared to handle the hoop. I will then go over the basics of how to hold and handle the hoop. I will then teach students some basic skills with the hoop, and have them practice each skill several times. We will then put the skills together with choreography and learn a level 1 hoop routine. This class is very interactive and hands-on. I will be offering constant feedback to students as they practice...
Students will learn the basics of handling a gymnastics hoop, including tosses, rolls, and arm circles. Students will put these skills together and learn a routine to present at the end of class.
I have been coaching gymnastics for 3 years in my local community. I also teach children's dance classes and owned my own dance studio for two years (Dance With Jenny!).

It is highly recommended that parents supervise their children as they take this class and ensure that they adhere to the correct flooring requirement, spacing requirement, and clothing requirement. Gymnastics is a physical art form and injuries can occur if children are not focused and not practicing in the right setting or clothing. It is imperative that students wear closed-toed shoes or go barefoot- socks are easy to slip in, and sandals/flip flops are easy to kick off or trip over when trying to handle an apparatus.
