Class Experience

Feel the Beat, Hear the sounds, Make a Pattern with Rhythm Sticks:
(25 minute classes)
Using rhythm sticks helps develop:
•	Fine motor development and hand-eye coordination.
•	Language development and listening skills.
•	Rhythm, beat, and tempo. (Early introduction to quarter, half and whole notes)
•	Creative thinking and problem solving.
•	Early brain development.
•	Directionality (up, down, forwards, backwards, etc.)
•	Group participation

Using Rhythm sticks, your child will have opportunity to interact and engage with language by singing songs and tapping out syllables, becoming aware of quarter, half and whole notes and how to count these notes, following instructions, being creative by designing their own rhythms and patterns, participating within a group and contributing to the group by being a leader during our time together.

This is a very interactive class where each child has a voice. My goal is for the children to be the leaders with myself only as a guide for the scheduled activities, exercises and songs.

Movement and creativity are highly encouraged in this class as each child demonstrates who they uniquely are all while learning actual skills such as how to count quarter, half and whole notes.

The goal is for learning to be made fun and engaging through hand on activities.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics, a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate, an Early Childhood Education Certificate and an Education Assistant Certificate and experience working in all of the above fields.
I am passionate about imparting the love and knowledge of words to young learners to inspire them to be successful with reading and comprehension as they grow. My hope is that their learning from the books they read one day will be enhanced by a solid foundation and leave a lasting impact not only in their minds but also in their hearts.
