Embark on an exciting adventure in our early reading class where the focus is on learning and reading word families! Through engaging stories, lively songs, creative writing, interactive activities, and fun games, students will become familiar with word families and their spelling patterns. Our dynamic approach brings word families to life as students explore and practice reading with them in context. Whether it's rhyming words or discovering common word endings, students will build a strong foundation in early reading skills while having a blast. Join us as we meet and learn alongside our word family neighbors, strengthening literacy skills and fostering a love for reading in a supportive and playful environment. Let’s dive into the wonderful world of word families together! What will my class look like? Each week, we'll embark on a journey to discover a new word family! Students will practice writing each family member in their hand-drawn houses, creating a vibrant Word Family Lane. We'll bring the words to life with catchy songs, followed by various activities to reinforce our learning. As we dive into stories showcasing the word family words, we'll immerse ourselves in the world of language. Our session wraps up with a thrilling game to make the word family unforgettable! Students should know their letter sounds so they can be ready to read the cvc words. I have been teaching since the early 90s and have also received my Master's Degree in Children's Literacy. For the last couple of years, I have been tutoring children in reading and have had great success. I have found that starting them with the word families is the fastest way to helping them reach the reading goals set for them. I strongly believe that is the gateway to learning reading. Hello! My name is Erinn Santore. I am the founder and teacher of Treasure Quest Learning Adventures. I am super excited about teaching your child the many exciting treasures I have learned about people, places, and things. I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in Children's Literacy. I have 13 years of experience in the mainstream classroom but have been working closely with children in various settings for 30 years. I have been teaching English to children in China for VIPKID and absolutely love it. I am married to a courageous firefighter and have two children that I homeschool. My daughter is 8 and my son is 10. I am a leader in a large local homeschool co-op. Traveling around the world is a hobby of mine. I enjoy meeting people and learning about new cultures.
