We are going to have so much fun! Each week we will learn a nursery rhyme, fingerplay, or fun children's song. Then we will get messy with a super fun craft to compliment the rhyme. We will begin with introductions and then get right to it! I will introduce the song for the day by singing it while they echo back. We will make up motions and use our whole body to tell the story. Occasionally we will watch a youtube clip of the song and sing along. This is a whole group activity and I will...
17 years of classroom experience and 2 years teaching online. I love it! I have taught 100's of students to read and write. My greatest joy is to see them light up when they "get it"! Learning through play is the best way to keep the kids engaged and it's even more fun if we can get a little messy.
I will send a supply list of 2-3 items at the beginning of each week that are required for the project. Most items will be common art supplies such as printouts that I send to you, white paper, colored paper, scissors, glue, markers, crayons, paint, cardboard from toilet paper or paper towel rolls, paper plates, coffee filters, egg cartons, glitter, straws, tissue paper, paper bags, egg crates, googly eyes, cotton balls and plenty of wipes to clean up!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using paint and scissors for some of our projects. The student may need help with some folding or cutting.
Never stop learning!
