Day 1-Learners need to bring a story they have already written to class to work on. They need to send me a copy of the story before class begins, so that we can work on it together, while I look at the story, too. This can be a picture or a pdf (I will be printing it off to read along as the student reads it aloud. I will be highlighting, circling, etc. as we go.) We will work on grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors. Day 2-We will read over the first half of story working on...
Students will learn to proof and edit their own papers through the proofing and editing of one of their own works so that these skills can be applied to their future writing.
I have been teaching writing and proofreading and editing skills for over 25 years. This is something I love doing and hope to cultivate a love of it in the learners, as well.
There is no definitive homework for this class. Students may wish to rewrite their stories/papers/essays after taking this class, so that their final draft includes any changes made during our class.
