Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Students will learn several ways to remember which way certain letters and numbers face to help them not write them backwards. Not all strategies help all students, so I have put together a number of different ways to help using hands and pictures and giving numbers personalities. For example, students will learn 4 different ways to remember the difference between b and d. Other letters and numbers covered besides b and d are p, g, q, s, z, 3, 5, 6, and 9. I believe students learn by doing so all students will be participating verbally as well as drawing on their screens. (NOTE: THIS CLASS WORKS BEST WHEN STUDENTS KNOW HOW TO DRAW ON THE SCREEN)
Learning Goals

Hello, my name is Jan Bergesen, but the kids at school call me Ms. B. I've been an elementary school teacher for 35 years. Through the years, I have successfully developed a variety of unique ways of teaching things many children find difficult. Whether it's multiplication facts, math word problems, how to draw a person, how to write a paragraph or essay, learning to do ventriloquism, or even how to juggle, there's nothing I like more than watching learning happen. Did you notice the juggling in that list? I was a national award winning professional clown for 15 years and can share from those experiences as well. With that kind of a background, you know I like to have a fun, lively, creative class! I'm looking forward to helping your child experience the joy of learning.
