Is your teen applying for a job, internship, or volunteer opportunity? A well-designed resume can help them stand out!

In this 1-on-1 class, they’ll create their own professional resume using Canva, learning how to structure their information and design a layout that highlights their skills and experience.

Before class, students will receive a resume worksheet to help them gather key details, such as work experience, school activities, and achievements.

During class, we’ll go step by step to:

✔ Explore resume layout and formatting basics
✔ Customize fonts, colors, and sections to match their style
✔ Organize information for clarity and professionalism

By the end of one class, they’ll have a basic resume outline and structure they can continue refining as they gain more experience. If they’d like to work on specific wording, fine-tune details, or tailor their resume for different opportunities, they’re welcome to book additional sessions.

Whether they’re applying for their first job or building a resume for future opportunities, this class will give them the confidence to create a polished, well-structured resume.

Learning Goals

Students will develop design skills by customizing fonts, colors, and layouts in Canva to create a professional resume.

Other Details

Pre-Requisites

Students should be familiar with Canva basics (adding text, using templates). After signing up, they'll receive a worksheet to organize their experience details so we can focus on designing their resume during class.

Supply List

A list of their experiences (work, volunteer work, school activities, skills, etc.). I will provide a worksheet to help them organize their information before class.
