Class Experience

Restorative yoga is a great way to de-stress, release tension, create calm, learn self-care techniques and build focus and emotional resilience. In this class designed for teens, we will use restorative yoga poses and breathing techniques to relax the body and the mind, helping to release tension and stressful thoughts.

The order of the class will run something like this:
Beginning with a centering meditation, then a breathing technique, followed by restorative yoga poses which will be held for a few minutes each to allow the muscles to relax. We will finish with our final resting pose, Savasana.

You will need a clear space in which to lie down.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Parental Guidance
Please remember that everyone's body is different. If at any time, a pose feels uncomfortable, please come out of it at any time. This class is about relaxing and de-stressing, we should never force our body into any pose. Our bodies also feel different on any given day, so a pose may be more or less difficult and feel different on different days. It is important to look after our bodies. If you wish to stop at any time please feel free to do so. You may like to have a bottle of water nearby to sip between poses, to stay hydrated. Yoga is a physical exercise. All exercise incorporates a possible risk of injury. If you feel pain, please stop that pose immediately. Please use the prop suggestions to support the weight of the limbs to prevent pain or over stretching of the ligaments. Please ensure that you have enough clear space to be able to stretch out your body without being impeded by furniture or other items. Your well-being and safety is my highest priority.
Supply List
Please wear comfortable loose or stretchy clothing.

This is a restorative class, so please have the following to hand to support you:

If you or someone in your home has specific yoga props, please have to hand a yoga mat, a yoga bolster, 2 yoga blocks and 2 small cushions. If you have an eye pillow this may be useful. If you don't have these items, please don't buy them specially, you can bring the following: A sturdy pillow, two towels, cushions or pillows (2 or 3), sturdy hardback books. I will send instructions for how to make a pillow into a sturdy bolster upon enrolment.

As this is a restorative class, you wont be building heat, so a warm top, socks and a blanket would be useful if you get cold.
