Class Experience

Welcome to our engaging live class designed to equip learners with essential dining etiquette skills! Through a blend of dynamic slides, interactive questions, and hands-on activities, participants will gain confidence in navigating the complexities of dining. The session will run for about 55 minutes, including a valuable Q&A segment. By the end of this class, learners will master how to approach challenging foods and understand the manners expected at restaurants and during special events.

Did you know that even the most polite and respectful children can lack proper dining manners? As they grow, expectations for their behavior in restaurant settings and their table manners will increase. Society has clear rules that we all must follow. When children do not adjust their behaviors from their toddler years, they risk being perceived as having poor table manners or lacking the necessary etiquette.

Knowing the appropriate dining practices not only saves everyone from potential embarrassment but also elevates their social standing among peers. Strong table manners can make a lasting impression!

Join us as we explore the crucial aspects of dining at home and in restaurants, covering vital topics such as:

- Table Manners
- Restaurant Etiquette
- Understanding Place Settings and Silverware
- Differentiating Good Manners from Bad Manners in Restaurants
- Tactics for Eating Difficult Foods
- Proper Response to Invitations
- How to RSVP Elegantly
- Navigating Menus and Ordering Foods
- Effective Use of Forks and Knives
- And Much More!

While most classes conclude on time, some may extend slightly based on class size or questions. If you don’t see a class that fits your schedule, we encourage you to reach out and request one! Also, ask about our options for both group and individual classes to make the most of your experience!

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Michelle Shannon. I am an etiquette coach, mompreneur and author of several books about etiquette and manners. I have 3 children. I love to cook, read books, teach and shop. I teach etiquette classes for children and teens. I help make children aware of the connections between kindness and proper manners. I also help make children more comfortable in social situations by teaching them to be more aware of when and how to use proper manners.

I have worked with children for over 16 years teaching children proper manners and how to be more confident while building social skills. I work with children in a one-on-one or group setting. I create small and large events like tea parties and classes at department stores to teach girls proper manners for young ladies. I also have experience working in a classroom setting assisting with teaching children and creating lesson plans. I often visit classrooms, schools, churches and events to teach people about the importance of etiquette and proper manners. Also, I'm a homeschooling parent. My daughter is now in high school. I have been homeschooling my daughter for several years.

In my opinion, as a society we may not be doing the best job teaching children proper manners. An etiquette coach will make them aware of the rules that should be followed in today's society. I think it's important to teach our children about etiquette and proper manners so that they won't get embarrassed in social situations and to prepare them for a successful future.

I was invited to a studio in Beverly Hills where I auditioned to have my own reality show about etiquette. They decided not to go through with the show.
