Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to research and write a research essay from start to finish.
I have taken many research courses, have expertise in research writing, and have peer tutored many different levels of students in research writing.
Learners will need to complete the weekly goals outside of each class session. These will be posted in the classroom ahead of time so students know what to expect. There will be checkpoints for students to submit portions of their essay to receive detailed feedback about their essays. Students should expect about 1 hour of work each week outside of class meetings.
Paper and pencil each session for notes, and a way for them to type and submit their essays as Google docs, doc.x, or PDFs.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Written and verbal feedback on essays and checkpoint assignments. Final essay will receive written feedback
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will select their own topics. I will make sure that topics are age appropriate and that sources used are also age appropriate. Students will need access and parental consent to google slides and google docs outside of class meetings.
