Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
Are you excited about reptiles? This four-week flex class offers the opportunity to go in-depth to discover all about your favorite reptiles, and some you might not have even heard of! Students will learn about the different environments that reptiles live, how to create suitable enclosures, how to socialize their animals, and feeding requirements and techniques. Each week students will learn about the topic of the week and then participate in the weekly discussions. The students will ask two questions about the content and respond to one of the questions from their classmates. The questions are designed to promote discussion, research, and engaging with higher-order thinking skills. The teacher will also participate in writing and answering questions and encouraging dialogue with students. Weekly topics are: Week 1 - Terrestrial VS Arboreal Reptiles, Tropical VS Desert Reptiles Week 2 - Husbandry & Taming from Beginner to Advanced Week 3 - Food: Herbivores, Omnivores, Insectivores, & Carnivores Week 4 - Project, choose your favorite!
