From Komodo dragons to tuataras, venomous snakes to giant tortoises and crocodiles, this class will explore fascinating facts about reptiles from around the world through meeting live program animals and viewing a photo slideshow.
Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
A photo slideshow, discussion, games, and live animals will help learners have the opportunity to take a closer look at the fascinating field of herpetology. While meeting a corn snake and leopard gecko, students will be encouraged to ask questions and share observations about each animal. Through identifying bones, turtle shells, and snake sheds, students will become familiarized with the technical terms for reptile body parts. - Students will improve their understanding of the unique characteristics that define the group of animals known as reptiles, plus learn fascinating facts about specific reptile species from around the world.
I am offering this class because I have interacted with many interesting reptile species around the world and am passionate about herpetology and enthusiastic about sharing this passion with others.
