Class Experience

Have your learners come explore the secret lives of pythons, caiman and poison dart frogs! Join NatureGlo for this exciting learning adventure looking closely at each of these amazing reptilian and amphibian groups!

The following topics are covered in the order they're taught:

Lesson #1 - Poison Dart Frogs exhibit all the vibrant colors of the rainbow and are known for their toxicity. Their poison levels actually correlate with their bright colors. Species with great toxicity, derive this from their diet of ants, mites, and termites. Their native geographic ranges are Central and South America.

Lesson #2 - Pythons - have the reputation for having some of the largest snakes in the world and are from Africa, Australia, and Asia! They are a HUGE favorite in the pet industry.

Lesson #3 - Caiman - typically smaller than alligators and crocodiles, are actually more aggressive than the other two! Their native geographic range is Central and South America.

I offer math enrichment (MathArt) and natural science online classes that address other subjects (also known by unit studies, thematic units, integrated learning, and cross-curricular). What is MathArt? MathArt is a thematic educational journey with a math and history backbone. I teach how math relates to the real world around us. MathArt shows the rich and beautiful connections there are between math, science, history, culture, literature, music, and the natural world. Currently, I offer marine biology and reptile, and amphibian (herpetology or herps for short) thematic unit online studies.

I've held a BA in K - 12 education since 1996. I hold two certificates of completion from the Wilderness Awareness School Kamana program. I have been teaching online classes since 2011.

I've been a full-time RVer with since 2013. I use some of the nature photography from my travels in my picturesque PowerPoint presentations. I desire to RV and backpack Europe someday.
