In this class students will be taught what tens and ones represent. They will also be able to show how tens and ones make up a number in multiple ways. Topics I will cover is necessary vocabulary such as tens, ones, grouping and place value. I will also cover how to show tens and ones in more than one way. In this class students will learn what the place values, ones and tens mean. They will also learn how to decompose numbers into tens and ones. Lastly they will be able to represent tens and ones in multiple ways such as through drawing, place value charts and by using words.
I have taught numerous math curriculums such as GoMath, CGI and Pearsons. I also have 3 about years experience specifically working with 1st grade.
Learners will need pencil and paper.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will need paper and pencil for this course.
We will refer to place value charts, tens and ones cube images as representations, 100 counting chart and an educational video that I will play during class. Students will not need direct assess to any of these tools as I will present them during class.
