Renaissance to Contemporary Art Summer Camp

In this 5 day summer camp, we will see examples of art movements from 1400-1900s each day and learn to interact with pieces independently. Students encouraged to draw/paint pieces as we go. Different paintings than the summer camp version!

Class Experience

Many people think art is out of their reach. In this class, students will learn strategies to engage with art in their own way!
I have a BS in Anthropology & Human Biology from Emory University. I focused on archaeology, museums, and ancient health throughout my undergraduate education. I have field experience on 3 continents and have worked at 4 different museums. I have worked as a tour guide in multiple historical/museum locations - I love sharing my love of art history with students and helping them find their place at museums. I have a high level of historical knowledge for these time periods and took numerous classics classes in college as well. I have always been a lover of art!
Students have the option to create paintings or drawings in one of the styles of the day to day. These should be submitted to the teacher or classroom before the next class. This is optional and just for fun!
Learners should have some drawing equipment (paper, pencils, crayons - anything will do as long as they can draw or write) and expect to do a bit of brainstorming and drawing! They may paint along with the class as well.
4 hours 10 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There may be some nudity in some paintings or dark themes.
