Advanced Level
This ongoing advanced remedial math class is going to review and introduce concepts in a clear and logical order. Step-by-step detailed explanations will show the process for each type of problem within a new concept. Beyond reviewing some of the fundamental concepts that were reviewed in the Fundamentals of Basic Math class, we will give strong emphasis on probability, statistics, graphing, equations, inequalities, systems of equations, percentages, measurements, accounting, and basic banking. Lesson 1 (Tuesday, May 3, 2022) - Advanced processes of Order of Operations: example: 9/3 + 2(9+10) - 8 + 4 * 3 = 9/3 + 2(19) Parenthesis -8 + 4 * 3 = 3 Division + 2(19) - 8 + 4 * 3 = 3 + 38 1st Multiplication - 8 +4 * 3 = 3 +38 - 8 + 12 2nd Multiplication = 41 1st Addition - 8 + 12 = 33 Subtraction +12 = 33 + 12 Final Addition = 45 Lesson 2 (Tuesday, May 10, 2022) - Number classification: Natural number, Whole number, Integer, Rational Number, and Irrational Number. The Law of Trichotomy Lesson 3 (Tuesday, May 17, 2022) - Fractions: Proper, Improper, Mixed, Equivalent, Least to Greatest Lesson 4 (Tuesday, May 24, 2022) - Ratios: Express the relationship using ratios Lesson 5 (Tuesday, May,31, 2022) - Proportions: find the proportion that is missing using the ratio methods Lesson 6 (Tuesday, June 7, 2022) - Fractions Lesson 7 (Tuesday, June 14, 2022) - Percentage, Percents, and Base Lesson 8 (Tuesday, June 21, 2022) - Applications of Percents Lesson 9 (Tuesday, June 28, 2022) - Converting Measurements Lesson 10 (Tuesday, July 5, 2022) - Conversion of measurements using dimensional analysis Lesson 11 (Tuesday, July 12, 2022) - Using mixed measurements Lesson 12 (Tuesday, July 19, 2022) - Scientific Notation and the power of 10 Lesson 13 (Tuesday, July 26, 2022) - Identifying Polygons Lesson 14 (Tuesday, August 2, 2022) - Identifying Symmetry Lesson 15 (Tuesday, August 9, 2022) - Similar and Congruent Polygons and Triangles Lesson 16 (Tuesday, August 16, 2022) - Perimeter
