The major religions of the world answer the same basic questions:Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? What happens when we die? But how did each one come to be? Students will be presented with interactive (Q&A) slides that go over the origin (founders), the basic beliefs, and teachings of Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. Students will be able to compare and contrast the five major religions (Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam) in a number of different areas.
I have many years of experience having taught this topic to 9th and 10th grade history and cultural geography students.
Homework Offered
Students will be expected to complete a chart (given prior to the class) and if a grade is needed, write a paragraph citing similarities and differences. (Formatting for paragraph will be given at the conclusion of the course.)0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

This course is not meant to sway someone's opinion toward one religion or another. It is simply designed to present the facts. With that being said, it is natural for students may become fascinated with one particular religion.In this course there are no judgments, only comparisons.
