Relaxing With "Diary of a Wimpy Kid:” Making Mindfulness Fun In an After School Weekly Book Club
What's included

Does your child enjoy the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" novel series? So do I! In this ongoing class, we will meet weekly to discuss these fantastic books and characters. At the end of each class, students will participate in a guided relaxation exercise. Please note that each class can be taken separately and does not build on any other classes, so you can drop in and out as needed! The "Diary of a Wimpy Kid” novels are incredibly popular, and do a great job of combining adventure and humor through comic-book style illustrations. In each class, we will focus on one particular book in the series through a combination of teacher-led and student-led discussion. I highly encourage interaction and participation in my classes, while also being mindful of those who are not comfortable participating. Although no prior knowledge is needed, students will most likely enjoy this class more if they have read the books. After the book discussion, I will lead the class in a guided relaxation exercise that is designed to bring focus and a feeling of peace and tranquility to the rest of their day.
