Class Experience
Each week, I will post a full video (approximately 30 minutes) of a yoga class—poses and meditation—that will help learners calm down after a long, stressful day and ease into a good night’s sleep. Although wonderful for the evening, learners are, of course, welcome to practice our yoga any time of day or multiple times per week at their convenience whenever they feel the need. In each class video, I will lead us through the following: a warm up of deep breathing techniques and gentle Sun Salutations, a unique sequence of relaxing yoga poses, a meditation to foster mental clarity and calm, and a quiet transition into a period of relaxation also known as Savasana (to be done on their own after the conclusion of the video for as long as needed). As the learners practice yoga each week, I will foster frequent discussions in the classroom regarding their favorite (or not so favorite) poses from the class as well as a weekly mindfulness topic/reminder. Mindfulness is an integral part of yoga and is particularly crucial for a relaxing practice like this one; it can lower stress, clear our minds, help us stay calm, and so much more. This class should be stress-free and will be tailored to the learners’ interests and needs each week following our discussions. No experience is ever necessary; it’s all about choosing versions of poses that help us feel good, allowing ourselves to release any tightness in our bodies or tension in our minds, and letting us all feel wonderfully relaxed!
