My name is Sylvette Frazier, I am an Educator, an Artist, and Nature Pedagogist, specializing in Early Childhood Education. I have been in the field of education for several decades working in a variety of capacities and roles (Atelierista, Teaching Artist, Preschool Teacher, Program Manager) with children between the ages of 3-11. During the last several years, I have been designing art & nature-based programs through my business: Connecting Children to Art in Nature, to ignite curiosity about nature and facilitate experiences for children and their families to express themselves in a variety of artistic formats. I have a Master of the Arts Degree in Early Childhood/Primary Education, a Bachelor Degree in Child Development, Program Director Permit for Preschools from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing, IB PYP Certification in Teaching and Learning. I am also a National Geographic Certified Educator.

As a working Teaching Artist for the last ten years, my work with young children lends well to the Reggio-Emilia pedagogy of dedicating time to pursue creative work in an Atelier (a creative studio). I enjoy working with children to foster their artistic development of the elements of art & design, and the exploration of materials to use as artistic expression.
