Using verbal story starters and visual prompts, learners will write in inspiring short bursts on varied topics, both fiction and nonfiction. When time is up, they will have opportunities to share their writing with the class, but are not required to do so. The atmosphere during this class is festive. We are a community of writers, each with a unique voice which will be respected and celebrated. Protocol for class is polite listening and applause only when writing is shared. Students may leave...
The main objective here is to encourage fluency, actual quantities of words on the page. It is not to analyze grammar and other technical elements of writing. This class is great for students looking for writing inspiration, and for those who have a negative association with writing assignments and red marks all over their work.
