Beginner Level
Welcome to my one-week Recorder Karate Camp, a dynamic and engaging program designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of music and recorder playing. This immersive camp is perfect for young musicians who are eager to learn, play, and build confidence in their musical abilities. Throughout the week, students will embark on a journey of musical discovery, learning how to read music and play the recorder. My approach combines direct instruction with hands-on demonstrations to ensure that every student grasps the essential concepts of music theory and recorder technique while also teaching students fun songs to play. Everyday we will learn how to read rhythms such as quarter, half, and whole notes. We will also learn new notes on the recorder such as B, A, G, and E. Each day will be a new song taught and students will get a chance to pass off the song from the previous day in order to earn a digital belt.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to read simple rhythms such as whole, half, and quarter notes. They will also learn how to read quarter and half rests. New notes will be B, A, G, and E.
