This 3-week, fun class is a non-instructional, holiday play-along for existing recorder players.
Class experience
We will be using the notes and playing techniques we learned previously to play holiday songs together. This class is all about using what we already know to play songs and have fun! The song list includes: Jolly Old St. Nicholas, I Have a Little Dreidel, Jingle Bells, Adeste Fideles, Auld Lang Syne, Oh Hanukkah, Carol of the Bells, Good King Wenceslas, Kwanzaa, I Saw Three Ships, The Twelve Days of Christmas, Up on the Housetop, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn to apply what they have learned to play new, holiday songs on the recorder. Students will also practice social skills by talking to friends about their holiday plans and about recorder playing.
I am a certified music teacher for all grades, P-12, and I have years of experience, both in a brick-and-mortar setting and online, in teaching recorder, general music, piano, bucket drumming, music theory, composition, and more.
Homework Offered
Students should be prepared and ready to play the songs before class starts. All of the music and video tutorials will be available ahead of time.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learner progress is not assessed in this fun, informal class.Grades Offered
Learners will need to have the printed music in front of them during classes. The sheet music will be posted in our Outschool classroom for printing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This class uses secular holiday music, which may not be acceptable for all learners. Please review the song list in the class description.
