I have been teaching music to children since 2008. I have my Master of Music in Music Education from Capital University with a Kodály Emphasis. I also have an early childhood First Steps in Music certificate from the University of Hartford. I have taught many workshops on how to teach music to children, and I teach teacher's in the graduate programs at DePaul University and James Madison University.
Students will also be given age-appropriate short assignments after each class. Students will be sent worksheets, songs, and games. Students will be encouraged to practice their recorder.
A recorder is needed for class. Yamaha brand and Music is Elementary brand are recommended. Students will need to complete several worksheets throughout class. They will need to have access to a printer.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be playing an instrument during class. Children should be in an environment that allows for noise making.
