Description
Class Experience
Learners will become familiar with the recorder. Learners will learn proper finger placement. Learners will learn proper mouth and tongue placement. Learners will learn proper breathing techniques. Learners will play three notes.
Learners will need to bring a recorder to class. We will be learning soprano recorder, so please be sure your learner's recorder is a soprano recorder. It is also important that the recorder be 2 or 3 pieces so that we can practice with just the head joint for mouth & tongue and breathing exercises, and just the bottom section for fingering exercises. Please let me know if you have any questions about recorder type.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Adult help would be helpful for young learners just starting on the recorder. They often need help placing their fingers in the correct places and covering the finger holes.
