Description

Class Experience

1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a heart shaped wreath of roses, using pencil. 
2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast, using colored pencils.
3. Students will learn techniques to draw blooming roses, using colored pencils.
4. Students will learn techniques to shade realistic roses, using colored pencils.
Because of how detailed this drawing is, students may need to finish their work outside the designated class time.
REQUIRED: -Paper -Everyday pencil -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Colored Pencils: tan/peach, pink, red, green (dark and light if possible), blue, gray, black, white OPTIONAL: -Baby oil, Q-tips and/or cotton balls (to blend colored pencils) -White gel pen
Students will be assessed throughout class and at the end of class through questions and/or sharing of drawings.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be aware that this course uses materials that may be harmful to your student if used inappropriately.  If you think your student may use any class materials inappropriately and/or potentially cause harm, please provide adult supervision for your student.
