Class Experience
In this one-time drawing course, students will learn to sketch a realistic portrait of a Boston Terrier dog (head to chest), using pencil. What will students learn? 1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a Boston Terrier (full body), using pencil. 2. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic shadows, using pencils and blending tools. 3. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic white fur, using pencils, erasers, and blending...
1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a Boston Terrier (full body), using pencil. 2. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic shadows, using pencils and blending tools. 3. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic white fur, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools. 4. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic black fur, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools. 5. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic short fur, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools. 6. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic dog eyes, using pencils, erasers, blending tools, and a white gel pen. 7. Students will learn techniques to draw from a real photo, using a provided reference photo. 8. Students will learn techniques to draw contrast, using pencils and erasers.
If students do not finish their drawings in class, I encourage them to finish outside of the designated class time.
1 file available upon enrollment-Paper -Everyday pencil and/or drawing pencils -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Blending Tool (blending stump, Q-tip, cotton ball, tissue, etc.) -Pencil Sharpener OPTIONAL: White gel pen
Students will be assessed throughout class and at the end of class through questions and sharing of drawings.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
