In this one time class we will take a look into the real world zombies of nature, better known as parasite and host relationships found in nature.
Class experience
In this class, we will take a look at the scarier side of nature by looking at the relationship between a few parasites that control their host. This class aims to peek the interest of students while exposing them to the scientific meaning of parasites and host creatures. We will learn how some parasites will cause their host to do unusual things, so the parasites can continue to live. In some of these cases we will see the parasite take complete control of their host creating a zombie like...
As an early childhood educator I have experience in teaching scientific topics and the research needed to clearly present the information.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This class does use the word zombies, but in no way portrays them as real. We will however be looking into parasites control over their host, and what can potentially lead to the parasite causing the host death.
