Real World: How to Create a Resume, Cover letter and Prep for Your First Job
This will be a Multi Day class for high school aged students to help students create a resume, cover letter and learn some interview tips and tricks.

What will be taught- Cover letter format, Resume format and Job Interview tips and tricks Class structured? I will be using a power point to share information with students, the first 20 minutes we will discuss what the purpose of cover letter/ Resume, as well as items to put on them etc. Then the last 10 minutes students will have time to work on their own personal cover letter/ resumes, and be able to ask questions to me to help in their direction to create. With the Job interview portion we will again spend time talking about things that create a good job interview vs a bad one, then again we will take time to conduct practice interviews. How will you teach? Each topic will take place on different days. I will use a PowerPoint presentation to guide the class, share information. Students will be able to ask questions. I will also use class discussion to keep students involved. I will also provide students with feedback as they work on their own cover letters/ resumes. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other ? At anytime during the lesson students will be able to interact with myself and others. This lesson specially will be better the more students interact through class discussion to help other build their skills as often times many students have similar activities they have participated in. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? No experience needed
