Description

Class Experience

Students will learn basic animal classification for each animal presented. In addition, students will study animal habitats around the world as they pertain to each animal. Animal features, behavior and adaptations will be discussed during each animal presentation. Predators and prey will be thoroughly learned. By the end of this summer camp, each student should be able to present their own created animal and discuss each of the following: the animal's classification, features, behavior, adaptations, prey and predators.
I earned a rating of "excellence" on my Elementary Praxis examination which means that I scored in the top 95% of all teachers in the nation for elementary knowledge.
I teach science to elementary students on a daily basis in my brick-an-mortar school.
The students will be asked to create their own unusual animal by the end of this summer camp. They can present a drawing to the class that they have made outside of camp hours.
All students will be expected to construct their own animal creation by the end of the course. This can be a drawing or a 3-D model. Therefore, the students' supplies will be contingent upon each student's needs.
There will be no assessment for this summer camp
4 hours 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I will show this video of a dumbo octopus swimming during our second class:
