Prompts can be a useful way to shake an artist out of their artistic rut and push them to think outside their own creative boxes. Sometimes a single image, word or even sound can spark creativity or get an artist to create something they otherwise never would! In this ongoing workshop, students will be given a different prompt at the beginning of each class and given time to create an artistic piece of their choosing. They can create a drawing, sketch, doodle, painting, a crafted piece or...
Students will develop their artistic skills and learn valuable tools to help them overcome creative ruts and press on with their drawing, painting and designing. They will learn how to give helpful feedback while also accepting constructive criticism for their own work. Students will learn to find inspiration in unexpected prompts and also think outside the box.
Students are encouraged to continue working on their artistic piece at home if they choose to, but are never required to.
2 files available upon enrollmentStudents will require materials to create with, but this will differ from student to student based on their own personal interests and the tools they have available to them. They can use markers, pastels, pens, pencils, pencil crayons/colouring pencils, a digital program, crafting materials, etc.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
As students are encouraged to create as they are inspired, students may choose to personally explore more mature themes. Although they will be encouraged to keep their shared artwork in class to a PG-13 level, it's possible that some may wish to explore themes of sexuality, racism, violence, hatred, topics in the news, etc.
