Public speaking is an important skill to have in any field. This class will help students build confidence while gaining valuable life skills. In this class, students will practice: 1. Researching a topic 2. Creating a solid keyword outline 3. Building a Powerpoint presentation 4. Public speaking 5. Learning how to be an encourager to other students
Teaching my own children at home, especially with struggling learners, has encouraged me to think "outside the box." I believe that learning occurs when you are enjoying it. Having fun and learning something new simultaneously helps with retention and also builds confidence. I love to see confident students!
Students will complete a presentation outside of class and present it on the last day of camp.
Several hand-outs may be uploaded as an additional resource to the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
As a class, each student will give their assessment on other presentations using a praise-input-praise format.
3 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
In order to complete this class, students will need: 1. Printouts that I will upload to the classroom 2. Access to Powerpoint during class
