US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
In this 6 week course students will learn and review kindergarten standards and foundational skills to help keep them learning all summer long. We will have an engaging class that includes songs, opportunities for students to engage in conversation, practice reading, writing and simple math problems and an interactive game to help with retention. No experience necessary! This is an ESL friendly class and can be joined at any time. Each student will receive a review workbook. Week 1 Math: Numbers 1-20 counting and tracing. Literacy: Uppercase and Lowercase letter identification, sounds and tracing. Week 2- Math: Shape identification and tracing. Literacy: Vowel families (at, an) Week 3- Math: AB patterns, number order. Literacy: Vowel families (ad, am) Week 4- Math: Counting objects, graphing. Literacy: Rhyming, syllables. Week 5- Math: Counting on Literacy: Beginning sounds Week 6- Math: Word problems Literacy: Reading number and color words.

Hi everyone! Welcome to class! I am Miss Kate. I have 15+ years of teaching experience with students ages 2-14 years old. I am passionate about early childhood education and building the foundation for life long learning. My classes will be engaging and focus on a variety of topics including early literacy, early math and life skills. I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and 3 (yes, three) big dogs!
I believe in engaging and playful learning and will teach my classes in a fun and interactive way including songs, digital & interactive games, and lots of interaction and opportunities for engagement.
I am certified to teach K-8 Elementary, K-12 Special Education and Early Childhood Education. In addition, I have a certificate in Child Psychology from Penn Foster, a certificate in Autism Studies from Arizona State University and a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Arizona State University. I love to teach and look forward to meeting your child!
