Ready, Set, Find It! A Preschool Scavenger Hunt
What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing class learners will be given a clue then have one minute to find an item they feel meets that criteria. When the timer goes off, I will call all learners back to what why they feel it works for the given clue. These are open clues so various items may work, they just have to be able to defend WHY they chose it. Each week will be different as we will use random themes each week such as colors, shapes, senses, holidays, back to school, mystery words, etc. We will discuss rules for game play such as 1) being safe as they search through the house, asking for help or permission from parents as needed. 2) taking turns to talk and being respectful to listen to others as they share. This game will not only work on these listed concepts and skills but also work on social skills that all young learners need like taking turns, waiting their turn, following directions, and virtual protocol. No prior knowledge is needed. Young learners may have a parent or older sibling help them in the hunt. So let’s get ready, get set and FIND IT!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi I’m Jennifer Burgard! I am a mother of 3; ages 20, 5 and 3 years old. I'm from Washington State. I'm so excited to meet all of you and welcome you to my classroom. I am a Certified Elementary Education teacher with a current and valid teaching certificate. I was a Special Education /Life Skills teacher for grades pre-k to 6th grade for 10 years. This included reading, writing, math, communication, social/emotional, daily life skills, etc. I have a BAE in Elementary Education with a Major in Reading and a Masters Degree in Special Education. I am very experienced with modifying and accommodating skills and curriculum to meet the students’ needs. I am also very good at motivating students to learn and getting them engaged. 1-1 and small group learning is my specialty.
I left the classroom in June 2019 and I now stay home and teach online and be MOM.
I have found I love being home with my children and being their very first teacher from a very young age as we learn through exploration and play. I believe children learn when they are having fun and are engaged. I do a lot with hands on toys, music, movement, play, etc. After being a special education teacher for 10 years I have found many creative ways to adapt learning to fit the learner and get them motivated.
I also enjoy hobbies such as crochet, scrapbooking, card making, etc. for over 18 years. I’m a teacher at heart and love to teach others to do what I love!
I can't wait to teach and have fun with your lovely learners; big or small!
