1 hrs 20 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, students will follow the instruction of the teacher in order to properly measure and mix ingredients to make the sugar cookie dough. Once the dough is prepared, we will roll it out and use cookie cutters to make fun Christmas/winter themed shapes such as Christmas trees, candy canes, ornaments, and more. We will then transfer the shapes to a cookie sheet and bake them. We will continue to do this until all of the shapes are baked. Students have two options for the decorating portion. Option 1 (recommended) is to take the follow-up class (Ready, Set, Bake! Sugar Cookie Decorating Fun) where we will make royal icing and decorate the cookies with different colors and patterns. Option 2 is to put Christmas sprinkles on the cookies prior to baking and no further decorating is required.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have had a passion for baking since I was 6 years old, baking alongside my mother. In 2014, I decided to take cake decorating classes to improve my skills and found an even stronger love for that. A year later, I started my own custom cake business from home and have been very successful ever since. Currently, I homeschool my 3 children and have passed my love for baking onto them and I always find ways to incorporate baking into their lessons. Baking is a great learning experience since it is a life skill that we all should know and we use reading and math skills throughout. Plus, the best part is we get a yummy reward at the end of the lesson!
